This morning the Beliveau Estate Winery team took a break from planning tomorrow’s Hillbilly Hallowine Hoedown to celebrate the favorable results of the recent Wines of the South Competition. Beliveau Estate Winery has proudly received 6 new medals, bronze, silver, and GOLD!
As expected by all who have sampled it, Warm Glow 2013 is our latest GOLD medalist! This fruity and earthy semi-dry Chambourcin is smooth and velvety with a warm edge. The balance of dried cranberry and black cherry flavors with rich tobacco notes makes Warm Glow 2013 the perfect holiday wine. It’s not too dry, not too sweet and pairs with all the meats, sides, and desserts on the table. This wine has been a favorite of Beliveau Estate Winery guests since the precise moment it was released. We are thrilled to adorn a gold medal on the bottle of this beautiful and deserving wine.
Bringing home a SECOND silver medal:
Fleur D’Ete, our sweet Pinot Grigio
Earning bronze medals in the Wines of the South Competition:
Pristine, our dry Chardonelle
Crown Jewel, our semi-sweet blend of Pinot Grigio, Traminette, and Niagara
Trailblazer, our toasty oaked Merlot
Fireside Chat, our delicious Cabernet Franc.
In the recently held regional Mid-Atlantic Southeastern Competition in Winston-Salem, NC, Fireside Chat was awarded a GOLD medal and Trailblazer took a Silver. We were pleased to see these dry oaked red wines win awards from a southern wine competition in which sweeter wines are typically preferred.
The Wines of the South Competition is held at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville each year. This annual regional competition has been promoting and showcasing the delectable vintages of the South for 13 years. The 2014 judges devoted October 17th & 18th to sampling wines submitted by 14 states in the southern US.
